What wall-mount systems are for
Each person blows into the unit, and the result shows on the screen within seconds, with a clear pass or fail signal. Stations with a tower light make the result visible to a guard at a distance, and connected models send each test to a dashboard so a supervisor can see who was screened and when, without collecting paper slips.

Wall mounted breathalyzer or handheld tester: which suits your gate?
A wall mounted breathalyzer and a handheld alcohol tester can use the same kind of sensor. What separates them is where the test happens. A fitted unit stays at one entrance on mains power, so it is ready every time someone walks up, and nobody has to carry it, charge it or remember to bring it out at the start of a shift.
A handheld is the better answer when the test has to travel — into a vehicle cab, to a remote work front, or around a site where people do not all pass one point. It is also the usual partner to a fixed station: the wall unit screens everyone at the gate, and a printing handheld is kept nearby to re-test and record a result for anyone the station flags.
If one entrance carries most of the people you need to screen, the fitted unit is usually the place to start. If testing happens in many places, start with handhelds and add a wall unit at the busiest gate later. A fitted unit covers only the door it is mounted at, so a site with two entrances needs two units or one controlled entry.
Before you install a wall mounted breathalyzer
Choose the spot people already stop at — a turnstile, a card reader, a security desk — rather than a wall they would have to detour to. Mount it at a height an adult can blow into without stooping, out of direct sun and rain, with a mains socket within reach.
Decide in writing what happens after a flagged result before the unit goes live: who is told, where the person waits, which device is used for the re-test, and how the result is recorded. A station that flags people with no agreed next step creates arguments at the gate instead of preventing them.
Plan the upkeep too. Every breath alcohol sensor needs recalibration on a schedule — a fuel cell less often than a semiconductor sensor, but never not at all — so note the calibration cycle on the product page and book it in like any other safety equipment.
